Write It Down
Now that you have an idea of what your basic jobs are, write them down. For now use one piece of paper for each job. On that sheet of paper write down the specifics of each job.
I want you to get out a paper and label it “Daily Checklist”. On it list everything that MUST be done every day. It may be exercise, washing dishes, doing laundry, whatever you believe must be done everyday.
Next, label another sheet of paper “Weekly Checklist”. Write down what must be done weekly. If there are only 3 people in your family then you may need to only do laundry once a week . Don’t forget to include trips to the grocery store, post office, library, soccer practice or dance practice.
I find the best way to help me start working “my system” is to post a daily checklist on my refrigerator. (Keep it out of the way of little hands or it will soon become just extra scrap paper.) You may even want to laminate your checklist so that you can simply take a dry erase marker and check it off, then wipe it off and reuse it the following days.
